ORANGE BLOSSUM FESTIVAL PET RABBIT EXPO
& TRAINEE SHOW (Judge: Loren Stavens)

Sunday, 12 September 2010

As the Pet Rabbit Expo was such a huge success, we will be putting it on again next year - same time to coincide with the Orange Blossom Festival.
Any suggestions or offers of help will be greatly appreciated. Just contact Irene.

Note: The next Rosehill Gardens Pet and Animal Expo will be held in February 2012.

This is a fun event where we display different breeds of rabbits and inform the public about the joys of rabbit ownership.

Rabbit Fanciers is invited every year and we have a large under cover outdoor area which is in easy view of the front doors. Come and see us there!

Rabbit Fanciers Society has held our first ever Pet Rabbit Expo! We were a part of
the very successful Orange Blossom Festival activities.

This was on the 13th of September 2009 9am - 4pm.

This is some of what happened:

We will have a huge Property Class Show (also known as a Novelty Pet Show) which will have Twitchiest Nose, Fancy Dress and  Best Pet amongst other regular classes but we will be adding others for this special Expo like Biggest Bunny and Talent Quest Bunny, don't forget all first prizes will be given a trophy and Vetafarm will be donating extra prizes. We will also have a bigger and better Rabbit Hopping course which will be divided up into Beginners and Experts. We will also have a High Jump for those bunnies that have been training.
There will also be stalls that will be selling all manner of bunny products (Vetafarm), food, harnesses, cages, toys, nail clippers etc. We will also be having a Rabbit Savvy Vet to answer all your healthcare questions, he is Andrew Thompson of Springwood Veterinary Clinic, Springwood. Andrew has worked and studied in England and has lots of experience with rabbits and enjoys specialising in them. Bunnies are definitely one of his favourite subjects.

We will also have Christine Carter's fabulous book for sale as well as a few other bunny related books to peruse like the British Rabbit Council Standards Book & 'Massage for Your Pet Bunny'.

We will also have a breeds display where we will have the most popular bunny breeds on display for you to view and even pat. Breeders will be on hand to explain all about the different personalities and care requirements of the varying breeds. Rabbits will be available for sale from approved RFS registered breeders on the day.

Carrot Cake Competition won by M. Catacouzinos

We will also have seminars on:

!
- With Joshua Benbrook
How to Handle Your Rabbit - How to pick up a bunny, basic health check & 'why does my bunny do that?' With Irene King
Basic Rabbit Care - What foods they eat, what vet care they need, protection from heat and draft, is one bunny enough? etc.
How to 'Show' Your Bunny & basic Colour Genetics for Beginners. With Maria Catacouzinos

We will have a Great Raffle  - first prize is a top quality Timber Hutch donated by the N & C Toyer. (one of the very best Hutch builders around).

(Raffle won by D. Murphy)

We will have a full canteen with our famous egg and bacon rolls, pies, sausage rolls, hot dogs, ham & cheese croissants,  Devonshire Tea, milk shakes and carrot cake (of course!) to name a few.

We are going to have a jumping castle and other entertainment for the children like a colouring-in and a craft corner where you will be able to make and take home a toy for you or your bunny to play with.
